On May 26, 1930 the Board of Pioneer Trust Bank founded The Salem Foundation. These philanthropic citizens possessed a vision for a foundation of growth, health, and happiness for Salem and its surrounding areas. With what began as a small amount of a few thousand dollars has grown and grown, distributing annually millions in recent years. Over the past almost century, The Salem Foundation has given tens of millions of dollars of support towards housing, health, education, safety, parks, economic growth, and nearly all aspects of life in Salem.
The Salem Foundation is proud to be an important part of this community. Looking forward, the foundation will continue to grow and support Salem and its surrounding areas.
