The Salem Foundation William and Terri Frohnmayer Scholarship Fund was established to assist student athletes in attaining a college education, with priority given to those who are qualified to play college level golf.  Students who actively participate in extracurricular activities other than sports may also apply.

About the Scholarship

PLEASE NOTE:  THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION WAS SPECIFIC TO THE 2018 SCHOLARSHIP.

ELIGIBILITY, SELECTION, AND AMOUNT AND PURPOSE MAY CHANGE FOR THE 2019 SCHOLARSHIP.

Applications will be accepted between January 15, 2018 and April 20, 2018.  Must be postmarked by or delivered to the delivery address by April 20, 2018.  Office closes at 5:00 p.m.; Drive-up closes at 5:30 p.m.

ELIGIBILITY

Students attending these schools may apply:

In Oregon:

Within the Medford School District:  North Medford High School, Central Medford High School, South Medford High School.

Within the Salem-Keizer School District:  North Salem High School, South Salem High School, West Salem High School, Sprague High School, McKay High School, McNary High School.

In Salem:  Blanchet Catholic School, Salem Academy.

In Washington:  Mount Si High School in the Snoqualmie Valley School District.

Applicants must be planning to attend an accredited college or university in Fall 2018.

SELECTION

The criteria for selection will be:

  1. Active participation in extracurricular activities or sports, with priority given to those qualified to play college level golf.
  2. Grade point average of B or higher.
  3. United States Citizen.

Financial need will be taken into consideration but is not a requirement to receive the award.

Relatives of the Scholarship Review Committee are not eligible to receive the scholarship.

AMOUNT AND PURPOSE

The number and amount of scholarship awards is at the discretion of the Scholarship Review Committee.  It is expected that two or three awards will be made and that they will fall in the range of $5,000.00 to $7,500.00.

Scholarship funds may be used for tuition, fees, books, supplies, living expenses, and education-related travel expenses, to the extent that these expenses are reasonable, and will be paid directly to the college or university.
