The Salem Foundation Ronald and Sara Burr Scholarship Fund

ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP:

ELIGIBILITY

Any senior or graduating student from Stayton High School or Silverton High School planning to attend a four-year college or university for a Bachelor’s Degree in the field of agriculture or education may apply.

SELECTION

The criteria for selection will be:

  1. Financial need (not limited to a specific income maximum)
  2. Level of interest in the fields of agriculture or education
  3. Grades

Relatives of the Scholarship Review Committee are not eligible to receive the scholarship.

AMOUNT AND USE

This is a four-year scholarship. The amount of assistance will be $5,000.00 per year, for each of up to four immediately subsequent years of college, up to a maximum of $20,000.00.  This scholarship is restricted for tuition only.

ELIGIBILITY-DEPENDENT

This is an eligibility-dependent scholarship.  If any recipient fails to attend a four-year college or university, fails to maintain satisfactory progress toward a Bachelor’s Degree in the fields of agriculture or education, or abandons his or her education, the amount of the scholarship funds remaining for the student shall revert to the Ronald and Sara Burr Scholarship Fund.

Please list any activities in which you have participated.

Please list any money and assets available to finance your education i.e. family contribution, gifts, savings, summer earnings, social security, welfare, child support, trusts, scholarships, awards, grants, loans, etc. Include a statement of any assets held; i.e. car, etc.
