The Salem Foundation Jeaneen Gann Scholarship

The Salem Foundation Jeaneen Gann Scholarship was established to assist a female scholar/athlete who is currently attending North Salem High School in Salem, Oregon in attaining a college education.

Jeaneen Gann was a beloved math teacher at North Salem High School, where she taught for the last 27 years of her teaching career.  She also coached the Lady Vikings basketball team to five state playoffs and one state tournament, and was selected as the Valley League Coach of the Year in 1988, 1990, and 1992.  Jeaneen received the prestigious Crystal Apple Award in 1997, and was inducted into the North Salem Hall of Fame for Service in 2013.

This scholarship was funded following her death on February 21, 2016, after a brave three-year struggle against cancer.  Funding came not only from a bequest left by Jeaneen, but also by an outpouring of gifts made in her memory by members of the community.

This scholarship is intended to be distributed over 20 years, with the first scholarship having been awarded to a member of the Class of 2017.
