Many young people will never have the opportunity to experience a live symphony performance. Through their youth concerts, the Oregon Symphony Association in Salem has exposed thousands of young people (grades 3-8) to the wonders of a live performance of a renowned symphony orchestra.
In addition to attending the performance, teachers are provided with an education guide with an accompanying CD for use in their classroom prior to and after the concert, and volunteer docents from the Symphony Association go into the classrooms to share with them a little about what to expect at the concert as well as some simple rules of concert etiquette.
The Oregon Symphony Association in Salem appreciates the support it has received from the Salem Foundation for this worthwhile program!
