Meals on Wheels

The Salem Foundation recently received an update from Marion-Polk Food Share.  Marion-Polk Food Share runs the local Meals on Wheels program, and they have been making sure that their clients are receiving safe drinking water during Salem’s extended water advisory.

Julie Hambuchen, Marion-Polk Food Share’s Vice President of Development, said, “As we all wait for the next update about Salem’s water advisory, I want you to know that your vulnerable neighbors are receiving the safe drinking water they need because of the generous support of the Salem Foundation.

Since the water advisory went into effect, homebound seniors and disabled adults are receiving bottled water, delivered directly to their homes by caring volunteers. Vulnerable members of our community are receiving bottled water at food pantries, shelters and senior apartment buildings.

Because you support the Food Share, you’re making sure that your neighbors receive the help they need, with care and compassion.  Thank you for making this possible through the Salem Foundation’s support of Meals on Wheels. Our community is so much stronger because of caring supporters like you.”

Our thanks to Julie and Marion-Polk Food Share for sharing with us the results of contributions from The Salem Foundation.
